I had an idea for a new 2010 Spoiler that was truly a mix of the old school spoiler on first gens and the new spoiler on the fifth gens.

I bought a 2010 spoiler, chatted with LS1Dave about the general shape and idea of it, he popped out this (rough but in the general area) version...

Then McNord (LS1tech guys do not know he's our man yet so keep this as 6LE site privileged info please Wink ) just went to town making it look friggin factory (this is just the first half of the reconstruction)...

Brian (McNord) is AMAZING isn't he?  SO HOT Cheesy!!!

Some ALMOST finished pics...

It will get some finishing touches, ship back to me, test fit on Derrick's car and then we'll make a mold and start producing it.  Thoughts?

That thing is huge! But it'd probably work well (as far as looks). Can't wait to see test fit pics (I can try to Photoshop some paint onto them).

Ask and you shall receive...  We were on our way back from SEMA last night, stopped in Baker for some "alien jerky" and happened to see this spoilerless 2010 sitting next door.

Found the WAYYYY cool owners who let us take pop our spoiler on for some pics (we just took the GTO to SEMA and that is where we picked up our plug, this spoiler, from our guy from AZ, McNord).

Their car is REALLY nice and had a lot of other cool parts on it as it is the Defender Worx car...

Anyways, thanks again to them you have some pics to keep you held over until we can bolt it to our test car.  Without further adieu...

The fit is actually really good (can't tell that from the pics at all) and this piece is ready to mold.

I had thoughts of extending it to overhang the trunk but in person it looks SOOOO good as is and I'm afraid due to it's size making it wider would be too much but we'll see...

Thoughts so far?

Looks good.  It'll look like it belongs there once it's painted to match by the end-user.   Heck, you might be able to lower total cost to the consumer by making larger runs matching OEM colors but who knows.  You'd probably have to do it on a group purchase basis and find a painter who's willing to do it.

Ok, so here's where we are at...  We tooled the mold for the plug just so we could have a fresh fiberglass piece to make tweaks to.  Popped the first one out of the mold and here's what she looks like on the car...

There are a couple of small issues (moving a bolt hole 1/8", etc...) BUT I'm at a stand still on this right now.

Basically, I don't make my stuff in China, I get it made here in the USA.  That being said, injection molding isn't an option for us price wise (we don't have $20,000 to drop into a spoiler).  SO, our guy literally has about 5 molds that he made (for different parts of this one piece) that go into producing this one spoiler.

That being said, to make a 10% profit I'm looking to sell these at $450 ($500 on ebay).

BECAUSE OF THAT, I don't know if I'm going to move forward with this.  That is a LOT of money for a spoiler when you can get Chinese spoilers for $200-$300.

I would have to put another $1000-$2000 in getting this spoiler tweaked, a new mold made and a production piece for testing again and then my cost per piece is so high I'd have to sell for $450 and again, that's actually a little less than 10% profit.

Would anyone even buy this thing?  Also, since I'm tweaking it anyway, I could go ahead and just make it extend to the quarters...  Thoughts?

I like how this spoiler go with the lines of the car, yet , doesn't overlap the width of the car.  Smiley
